At Tin Hut Live we host local musicians playing 30 min sets, some singer-songwriter, some blues, some folk-rock, some instrumental... (all sorts of memorable songs).... and on the first Wed in June, (postponed from April and May), our special guests will be “Good as Gold” with Andy Eldred on vocals and lead guitar, Dave Mills on keys and Vic Singe drums/percussion.
These guys can really rock and you'll be dancing from the moment they start to when they stop ...and you drop!
Warming the scene is Andy’s son Julian, performing as Mr Deathwish his Wairarapa talent quest 2019 winning originals.
This will be followed by an open mic session described in more detail below.
Then the Tin Hut Live host band, Grafia, (Get right away from it all) will play it's original songs presented by the four piece band of Keith Austin on keys, Rob Maunsell on vocals and guitar with occasional harmonica, Stephen Shivas on lead guitar and Jeremy Were on drums.
The Tin Hut is renowned for it's great country pub food and service from Kate and her team. A new menu has been created and is available as takeaways as we come out of Lockdown 3 and now continue at level 2 for a couple of weeks. Hopefully by the 3rd June we will be level 1 or better.
Tin Hut Live starts at 7.30pm.
As it's the first get together after lockdown 4 we are inviting musicians and poets/ story tellers to perform one song or poem to fill a 20-30 min slot after Mr Deathwish has opened the evening. It's an opportunity for friends to share something of what they have experienced in recent weeks or have felt passionate about as a result of the pandemic we are emerging from.
I hope you can make it to our "re-opening" show and enjoy it with us. We're looking forward to having you along for the songs, dancing, chats and reconnecting.
After this show Tin Hut Live will be hosting musicians and bands on the third Friday of the month beginning on Fri June 19.
