The Warmup is an intimate new night of comedy featuring 4 lovely and talented local comedians. What makes The Warmup special is that each of our 4 comics will do a long set, enabling you to really get to know them. We’re almost at the end of a bizarre and dreary winter – what better way to warm up than by sharing a few laughs on a Wednesday night?
Our host for the evening will be Emma Cusdin. One of Christchurch’s Court Jesters, Emma is a talented local performer with plenty of experience performing both improv and stand-up – a combination that makes her a ‘double threat’.
Originally from India by way of Blenheim, Vasu Premkumar understandably brings a unique perspective on life in New Zealand. Coupled with his one-of-a-kind analysis of seemingly mundane everyday objects and situations, Vasu brings warmth and an endearing, uncanny charisma.
Laura Bruce joins us from Canada by way of Ireland and Scotland, and has quickly established herself as a comedic force to be reckoned with in Christchurch. Laura has a quirky, observational style, coupled with a love of language and wordplay.
Taylor Ruddle is a Christchurch native who began his comedy career in Japan. Taylor’s subtle brand of humour mixes social commentary, pop culture and self-deprecation. He believes that because life is both hard and weird, it conveniently offers us even more reason to laugh at it.
Can’t wait to see you!
