Moved to 9 June 2020 due to COVID-19
This course is for those who have already completed Sewing for Beginners or have basic sewing skills. You have the option of making an A-line or Pencil Skirt from New Look Pattern 6843.
You'll be developing your technical skills, and learning how to read and follow a pattern. You will complete your skirt, and if there is time at the end of the course, you are welcome to start a new project of your choice. In the first lesson, we will be looking at suitable patterns, discussing fabric options, learning to take measurements, and how to read the information on a pattern sleeve, so bring your ideas and a notebook.
Materials and equipment to bring from the second week:
- New Look Pattern 6843 (all sizes from 8-18 are contained on the one pattern, as well as both styles).
- 1 roll matching thread. Good quality eg Gutterman or Metrosene.
- 30cm Iron on Interfacing.
- 23cm invisible zip.
- 1 only 13mm button for waistband.
Our sewing room is equipped with domestic Bernina sewing machines which are available for you to use during class. You may prefer to bring your own machine to get familiar with its operation. For further information, please call the office on 5219623.
