Open Farms Day is a nationwide free initiative that aims to reconnect Kiwis with their food, farmers and the land on Sunday the 1st of March 2020.
Over 50 farms nationwide will open their gates to the public, with each farm hosting family-friendly activities that everyone can enjoy.
Please register your interest for your selected farm via the website link.
From there, you will be sent specific event details.
Located in the glorious Bay of Plenty, only 15-minute drive from the CBD and the beach, The Good Farm is perfectly located. Set in a valley, with rough hills and sinking swamps, we have our work cut out for us but with hard work, perseverance, teamwork and love for the land, we will change this land into a flourishing, healthy farm.
We are a family run farm wanting to provide healthy, nutritious and affordable food to our community. We sell fresh raw milk from our 20 cow herd, spray free vegetables from our market garden and a range of fruit from the property. We are organic in practice and love our land.
We would love you to come and taste our raw milk, pull some veges straight from the soil, see the other animals on the farm, and maybe even hand milk a cow!
You will need suitable walking footwear if you are wanting to visit the sheep and chickens. The track would be suitable for a mountain buggy only, not wheelchair accessible. Please no dogs or other pets.
No toilets available. Please no smoking.
Open Farms is proud to be sponsored by Beef + Lamb New Zealand, DairyNZ, the Our Land and Water National Science Challenge and Farmside Powered by Vodafone.
