The Lunar New Year is just around the corner and the annual Northcote Chinese and Korean New Year Festival will take place on Saturday, 1st February 2020 at the Northcote Shopping Centre.
To celebrate the Year of the Rat, visitors will experience the sights and sounds of Chinese and Korean culture and tradition through dance, music and food. The festival will kick off at 11:00 am and run through until 4pm and feature a wide array of cultural activities. Vibrant performances will colour the stage, and the town centre will be filled with fun and exciting activities including games, painting, crafts, sports and more. Foodies can also enjoy a wide range of Asian delicacies at local food shops that are not to be missed.
The festival has been running for many years and continues to grow. It is an outlet for Chinese and Korean communities in North Shore to celebrate the Lunar New Year together. It draws thousands of visitors yearly and aims to reach out to more members of the community. Enjoy the ancient dance of the dragon and interactive booths such as calligraphy, paper cutting, new year card making, and more, as well as a variety of community info stalls for everyone to enjoy.
The admission to this community event is free, so come with your family and friends to celebrate a prosperous new year ahead.
