Sip on a journey through wine on the last Wednesday of every month. Each month brings 6 wines, cheese & good company. Hosted by long time wine lover Jemma Grobbelaar.
At our wine tastings at Fantail & Turtle we pour wines of integrity & authenticity, wines that speak of their terroir, we share stories about the wine-makers that cherish their vineyards and look after the environment. We pour wines for people who care, made by people who care.
For our first Wine Club of 2020 it's the lekker South African wine tasting! We’re going to do it a little differently this time and head to one country to explore all their fermented grapes! South Africa has made wine for over 400 years and we will literally be sipping on history when we taste the legendary Vin de Constance, the wine that Napoleon drank in exile. We will be exploring the grapes of Chenin Blanc & Pinotage - not the rubbery stuff I promise (in case you tried a bad example of a pinotage back in the day)!
We will also take a look at an exciting new region called the Swartland where young gun winemakers started a wine revolution producing natural wines. So if you like sweet wine, red wine, white wine and/or natural wine, this is the tasting for you!
We stand firmly by our ethos - wine is only as good as the company you drink it with.
June 24th - Taste South Africa!
Fantail & Turtle is at Goodside, Smales Farm - just 11 mins from Auckland CBD.
