Venerable Khadro is bringing these teachings series to you in the comfort of your home. On offer are two separate subjects with 4 sessions each on Tuesdays over the winter months.

What is Karma?

Understand the Buddhist view of the law of cause & effect & apply this knowledge to your daily activities.

Karma/mental intention is what creates our experiences and decisions and based on that our activities of body, speech and mind. During this course we will explore the inner works and science of the mind, how it behaves and why. “Karma is something that anyone wishing for happiness and not wanting suffering should understand & protect”. Lama Zopa Rinpoche.

Meditation
The course will have a component of mindfulness meditations focused on the breath.

Theory & weekly assignments for the application of this knowledge in our daily activities

The course will cover the following topics based on which weekly contemplation's will be encouraged:
Mind science & mental intentions
General characteristics of karma
Varieties of karma
Karmic results
Purification & antidotes

Death & Rebirth
Tuesdays in August – 4th, 11th, 18th & 25th August @ NZST 6.30 pm to 8 pm

Explore the Buddhist philosophy of death and reincarnation & apply it for a meaningful/peaceful life and death

Usually we do not like to think about death, but if we want to die peacefully and be free of fear, we need to be prepared for it when it happens. The Buddhist view is that the mind is a continuum and after death there will be other lives, this course will explain this system of death & reincarnation.

Impermanence & death
Death dissolution’s & process
Reincarnation

We are asking those taking part in the online sessions to please consider making offerings to the Centre, the suggested amount is $10 per session, but we do not wish financial hardship to be a barrier to you taking part in the teachings. All offerings given according to your means are very much appreciated, assisting the centre to host teachers to support you in your Dharma practice.

Ven Thubten Khadro was born in Venezuela of European parents, emigrated to a New Zealand in 2004, and has lead courses/retreats in NZ, Australia, Colombia, India, Nepal and Germany. Her “international” background allows her to have an open, friendly and warm manner. She is currently studying an online Master Programme in Buddhist Philosophy, has done many solo retreats and for some months of the year lives in semi-retreat at Lawudo, a hermitage in the Himalayas, Nepal. She is a Buddhist Hospice/ Healthcare Chaplain, a FPMT registered teacher, and has served in various FPMT Centers.

We are asking those taking part in the online sessions to please consider making offerings to the Centre, the minimum suggested amount is $10 per session, but we do not wish financial hardship to be a barrier to you taking part in the teachings. All offerings given according to your means are very much appreciated, assisting the centre to host teachers to support you in your Dharma practice.

Once you have completed the registration you will be sent instructions for the ZOOM meetings.
