Kia ora koutou,

It is with regret that we need to inform you that on Friday Liz Weaver made the difficult decision to not travel to New Zealand due to the global situation with Covid -19. Developments since then have confirmed this was the right decision.

Unfortunately our Dunedin workshop on Wednesday 25 March "Community Innovation and Collective Impact" will be cancelled. We hope to be able to reschedule this event at a later date.

If you booked on behalf of others please pass on this message.

If you paid by Eventfinda we will work on processing your reimbursements over the next few days. If we invoiced you please either halt your payment or we will process a reimbursement as soon as possible.

Keep your eye on the Dunedin Community Builders, Inspiring Communities and Mātāwai Consultancy facebook pages - for future opportunities!

We apologise for the inconvenience caused.

Kā mihi nui,
on behalf of Dunedin Community Builders

Dunedin has a proud track record of community-led innovation to address complex challenges and foster caring, resilient communities.

It’s well recognised that to solve complicated problems, we must be adaptable, focus on strengths, think holistically and support participation. Integrating these approaches with indigenous values and authentic community relationships boosts the potential for positive change. However, working in these new ways with a broad range of partners is not straightforward. New skillsets and tools are required.

Two frameworks — collective impact (CI) and community-led development (CLD) — offer flexible and practical guidance for those working to make change.

This workshop will help changemakers from diverse sectors (the community, government, funding, iwi/hapū and business):

- deepen their knowledge of community engagement, human-centred design and collective impact practices
- identify barriers and opportunities for community-led and cross-sectoral work to advance wellbeing in Dunedin
- identify new tools and strategies to apply these practices/approaches in your role(s).

Participants will learn how to:
- engage community members to identify barriers and create bold visions
- effectively engage diverse audiences and sustain that engagement
- spark and support creative, community-led approaches
- harness shared leadership, with organisational and community perspectives working together to create change
- work with the community to test new approaches.

This workshop is co-hosted by Inspiring Communities and Dunedin Community Builders, with support from the Dunedin City Council and the Otago Community Trust.

Please be in touch if the cost is prohibitive – we would like to support grassroots groups without funding to attend. Contact
