During this intensely practical, hands-on workshop, you will be guided through each step of the cheesemaking process while making your very own round of Double Cream ‘NZ style’ Brie. You will also be shown how to make Burrata (Cream filled Mozzarella) cheese which you will get to sample afterwards. All ingredients included.
The ultimate class in practical cheese making! Learn all you need to know to replicate making NZ style Brie and Burrata at home. You will be guided through each step of the cheesemaking process while making your very own round of Brie. Then, while the Brie is ripening and setting (don't worry, all terminology will be explained!), we will make Burrata (Cream filled Mozzarella – yum!) together.
All ingredients are provided as are recipes and detailed handouts to take away with you. Bring an apron, a dishcloth, 3 or 4 tea towels, a pen to take notes and a 2 litre container and plastic re-sealable food bags to take your cheese home.
During the workshop, the following topics will also be covered: Milk and where to source it, hygiene and sanitation, equipment required and the origins of the cheeses you are about to make. You will also receive comprehensive instruction on how to mature your Brie cheese over the next few weeks.
A small break will be provided and you will have the opportunity to purchase equipment and cheesemaking ingredients after the workshop should you wish to replicate the experience at home.
