A morning movement session designed to regenerate bodies, minds and hearts. We will be exploring somatic practices such as Body Mind Centering, Feldenkreis, and image work, dance and movement practices to enable greater co-ordination and connection, and bodyweight and weighted movement activities to activate your body in multiple dimensions.
Underlying all of this will be Te Ao Māori understandings of tinana/body and whakapapa/relations, as well as bringing in Chinese Medical perspectives of health and physical functioning.
This will be taught in ways that can be done in or around your home. Most levels catered for, but you will ideally have the ability to move up and down from the ground. This class is best experienced without your kids actually on you, but they are definitely welcome to be present and join if keen!
What do you need? An open space, preferably with carpet and some kind of weighted object/s, between 1-5kg (full drink bottles, bags of potatoes, etc, be creative if you don't have weights already!).
