This event is part of the DOC Conservation week on the Chatham Islands. Visitors from the mainland are welcome to join us in a mid winter journey through the beehives on our archipelago 800 km east of Christchurch.
Together we will go and check how our precious bees are doing, spotting new places where we can set up new beehives for our "Bee Sanctuary project". Meeting with the landowners, we will be stopping for a cup of tea...Learning how to recognize endemic plants..And getting amused by the breathtaking landscapes and sceneries we will coming across during our walks.
Starting point is Hotel Chathams, where you can book your accommodation and meals for the occasion of this Conservation Week.
First stop Go Wild Nursery, then Admiral Gardens, Wharekauri Farm, Waitangi West , and more iconic places of the Chathams...
Wild honey degustations along the way.
Special servings of Go Wild Chatham Islands Freeze Dried Honey will be on your Restaurant menu for dinner at Hotel Chathams.
