This August, Waitomo Homestead is running a weeklong celebration of the good old hearty pie. Waitomo Homestead, famous for their delicious, home-baked $3 pies will play host to the first ever Waitomo Pie Week.
From the 5th to the 12th of August, locals and visitors to the region can head on down to the Waitomo Homestead to participate in activities that could win them one of the Homestead’s iconic pies.
Keeping in theme with all things Kiwiana, the activities will consist of a gumboot throwing, answering riddles, singing a waiata in Te Reo, a coin toss, craft beer and pie matching, dress ups and a ‘create your own pie recipe’ competition.
Located just before the Waitomo turn off; the Waitomo Homestead is well-known for great coffee, beautiful gardens, open-air and indoor dining options and is a great place for weary travelers to relax and stretch their legs.
