A new way to make a difference in our Community, The Waitakere College Foundation is a Charitable Trust formed by community leaders and past pupils of the College to: “provide opportunities for our kids to succeed in education by reducing barriers”.

The Foundation is not raising funds to build grand buildings, the only building we are interested in (and strive to achieve), is the building up of our students confidence and their self-belief, and that they themselves have the power to achieve their goals - we are just giving them a hand up, to kick start that dream.

Stationery, School and Sports Uniforms and Fees and even winter shoes are just a few of the essentials that the foundation helps with. Chromebooks are purchased and issued to students who would not otherwise have them, therefore eliminating that barrier to the modern way of learning. Now to many of you, these relatively small value items, may not seem like a huge barrier to education, but to a teenager, when we provide these we reduce the gap in their educational needs, and the students now have access to learn and participate, contribute, and feel part of their school community. We are giving them the tools and support to become the best they can be.
