The Choir of Christ’s College, Cambridge (England) Made up of students studying at Cambridge University, the Chapel Choir today continues the age-old tradition of maintaining chapel choirs in Cambridge, and Christ's has enjoyed a rich musical history since the college was founded in 1505. Today's choir is widely recognised as one of Cambridge's finest mixed-voice ensembles.
Recent CD recordings and concert reviews stand as testament to its ability and broad repertoire. Members rehearse several times a week, becoming familiar with an extraordinarily broad repertoire ranging from complex renaissance polyphony to challenging contemporary works. The choir performs regularly in London and elsewhere in the country, and has recorded a large number of CDs, including most recently, 'Even Such Is Time', featuring music by Gerald Finzi, Herbert Howells, Kenneth Leighton, and William Walton.
The choir also undertakes a major international tour each summer, most recently to Canada (2018), the west coast of America (2017), and Australia (2016); the concert in Palmerston North comes as part of a three-week tour of Singapore and New Zealand. www.cambridgechoir.co.uk
