Raising the Bar is back for a third round! The University of Auckland is proud to once again host this unique event in which our academics give free public lectures in pubs and bars.

Join Pat Bullen for Millennials and Gen Z: Who Really Needs Fixing - Us or Them?

Young people today are rude, lazy, self-entitled risk-takers who need fixing – according to the media.

Why do we fear, stigmatise and discriminate against our young people? What if youth mentoring expert Pat told you that most young people are making better decisions than many of today’s adults made when they were younger?

Focusing only on youth as ‘problems’ hinders their true potential as contributing members of society.

In this engaging and interactive session Pat will encourage the audience to challenge negative youth stereotypes.

She will draw on her experience as a researcher and Co-Director of Campus Connections Aotearoa, a therapeutic youth mentoring programme for marginalised young people who have been alienated from mainstream school.

After this talk you’ll never see youth in the same light again.

Registrations essential.
