Join a National Day of Action to Protect Ihumātao!
We're standing in solidarity with mana whenua in Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland) who are standing up against development on their illegally confiscated ancestral lands.
Check out website for more background information.
This action will be targeting Fletcher's Construction who bought the land at Ihumātao and are planning to start construction soon. Fletcher's must urgently stop all plans for this land, and instead return it to mana whenua.
What will the action look like?
As Fletcher's seem to be having trouble knowing what being a good treaty partner looks like, we'll be inviting them to a free Tiriti o Waitangi workshop at their premises in Churton Park! Together, we'll be learning more about Te Tiriti, singing some waiata and sharing some kai for breakfast.
We will be carpooling to Churton Park, so if you are able to take a car from Wellington, please let us know how many spaces you have to offer!
Also message us if you want to go but don't have a ride and we'll try to match peeps up.
Not in Wellington? Or can't make it?
This is a National Day of Action! Contact us to get linked up with an action in your local area. If there isn't an action in your area, you could always start one.
And/or get involved in the Protect Ihumātao Phone-in and protest remotely! Let's tell Fletcher's that they need to be on the right side of history.
