Now in its fourth year, this boutique music festival in the heart of Mt Eden has become a popular feature of the local arts calendar and one of Auckland’s best kept cultural secrets.
Launched by the Eden Arts Trust in 2016, the Festival proudly offers world-class chamber music in a succinct yet compelling format of three one-hour concerts over three days. This year to open the Festival we bring you Mozart and Dvorak Piano Quartets played by musicians familiar to Auckland (and APO) audiences—Andrew Beer, David Samuel, James sang-oh Yoo and Sarah Watkins; a Liederabend on the Saturday with opera star Wade Kernot (bass) and national treasure Rosemary Barnes (piano); and a Sunday matinee of delicious French music, Ravel and Fauré, performed by well-known NZSO players Simeon Broom, Julia Joyce and Andrew Joyce, with Rachel Church at the piano.
