Ngā mihi o te tau hōu! (Happy New Year)
Join us for three days of experiences to invigorate the soul and warm the senses in the cold chill of winter. Matariki on the Waterfront offers live entertainment, activities, kai and a place of connection for all.
Friday: 5-10pm | Saturday 2-9pm | Sunday 12-5pm
Silo 6 will become an active space for sharing matauranga (knowledge) through korero (facilitated discussions), music, workshops, art installations and more.
Delicious kai will be available from some of Auckland's best food trucks, with each of them incorporating traditional Māori ingredients into their menus. From the classic hangi & fried bread, to a kumara coconut & subtle ginger gelato, there will be something for everyone.
On top of all this, the Silo Park Bar will be back and serving up its world-famous mulled wine to warm your puku. Reka!
Each day will see a different range of workshops, and performances being hosted:
Fri, Sat & Sun:
Matariki stargazing & solar telescope with the Auckland Astronomical Society.
Sat 6 July:
InMotion Matariki 2019 the magical all-wheels illuminated parade 5:30-8:30pm
Plus full entertainment, kai & workshop details to be announced!
Matariki on the Waterfront is proud to be part of Elemental AKL, Auckland’s newest winter festival.
Free events for all ages. Nau mai, haere mai.
