On Sunday 3 November 2019 Life Education Trust Canterbury will be holding their annual fundraiser The Life Education Canterbury Duck Race. This event is proudly supported by MediaWorks, More FM and Christchurch Rotary.
Staged on the beautiful Te Papa Otakaro/Avon River the Duck Race will start from The Bridge of Remembrance and finish at Victoria Square. Three races will take place on the day:
Harold's Schools Duck Race I 11.00am
Watch as schools around Canterbury take part in this great race, the winner of this event will win a BBQ hosted by the More FM team to have at their next athletics day, disco or school fair (maximum 1000 sausages).
Corporate Challenge Duck Race I 11.45am
Starts from the Terrace Steps, watch as this event sees the best dressed ducks in town compete for some fantastic prizes.
1st I $3,000 Mediaworks Advertising Voucher
2nd I Weekend Escape to Queenstown with 2 nights accommodation at the Scenic Suites, gondola and luge vouchers from Skyline and $100 Z Petrol Voucher.
3rd I Bespoke Platter for the office to share for up to 20 people
Harold's Great Duck Race (open to the public) - 12.15pm
Up to 1500 small rubber ducks will be launched into the River from The Bridge of Remebrance travelling downstream 650m to the finish line at Victoria Square. Ducks are sold through a raffle system ($5ea) and are available now to purchase! There are some amazing prizes up for grabs including:
1st I A Tekapo Family Escape staying at the Mantra Lake Tekapo, breakfast, hot pools pass, Aoraki Mackenzie Dark Sky Reserve Star Gazing Experience
2nd I Family Pass to the NZ Breakers Game in December
