Manawatū Multicultural Centre in collaboration with Te Manawa provides this event as part of the Festival of Cultures celebrations for 2019.

Volunteer speakers will demonstrate some of the spoken languages of our communities living here in Palmerston North. Palmerston North has people from 130 different cultures, speaking 93 different languages, living in it. Join us as we celebrate our mother tongues, and get a glimpse of each language: its roots, history, evolution, alphabets, slang, accents and much more.

Each language and its speakers has its own timeslot:
Farsi: 12.15 - 1pm
Korean: 1.05 - 1.30pm
Arabic: 1.35 - 2.10pm
Sinhala: 2.25 - 2.45pm
Urdu: 2.50 - 3.20pm
Mandarin: 3.25 - 4pm
