In this fun and informative workshop, you'll learn the basic biology of the brew and the process for making your own, and leave with your own Scoby.
This is an overview course that will offer you the basic understanding needed to start making your own fresh batch brewed Kombucha with your very own Scoby. You'll develop good brewing practices, understand when things have gone wrong and discover tricks for getting back on track.
You'll learn how to setup your own brewing cycle to continue making Kombucha for as long as you want – or put the whole process on hold for a vacation. You'll leave with a basic brew and your own Scoby, which you will be able to use to carry on brewing Kombucha at home.
By the end of the workshop, you’ll be able to:
- Recognise healthy and unhealthy brewing kombucha
- Follow the recipe to make the base tea and explain how to introduce the SCOBY to the tea
- Follow good hygiene practices to ensure a safe brew
- Explain how to restart future batches
All ingredients provided but bring tea towels and large glass or ceramic bowl or jar (not metal) to take your scoby home.
