One–off Auckland show this summer!
With special guests Opshop and The Miltones.
The legend, the voice, Whispering Jack himself will return to New Zealand in March to play at Auckland’s most idyllic outdoor venue, Villa Maria Winery. Performing works from his extensive catalogue including all the hits you know and love, Mr John Farnham is set to thrill his kiwi fans:
“Forty-eight years after his professional debut – and more than a decade after his supposed retirement tour – John Farnham’s voice was still staggeringly spectacular.” - Sydney Morning Herald.
John Farnham has been celebrated widely for more than just his contribution to music. In 1966 he was made ‘An Officer of the Order Of Australia”, and in 1986 named ‘Australian Of The Year’ then in 2003 John was officially inducted into the “Australian Music Hall Of Fame.”
Over an impressive 50-year career, Farnham has remained one of the most accomplished and highest-selling artists in Australasia. The album Whispering Jack has gone a massive 24 x platinum in Australia alone! His ability to light up the hearts of his audience has never waned and his sheer love of being onstage is apparent at every concert.
Two Strong Hearts, Pressure Down, A Touch Of Paradise, Burn For You, Sadie The Cleaning Lady, Age Of Reason, You're The Voice and so much more.... and lucky for fans the talent does not stop there.
Joining Farnham at Villa Maria Winery in a very rare appearance are New Zealand favourites Opshop. The Auckland band led by Jason Kerrison forged a loyal following throughout the 2000’s with extensive touring and an abundance of superb radio hits.
Song’s such as One Day, No Ordinary Thing, Maybe and Love Will Always Win were the official Kiwi soundtrack of the time. Opshop has released three full-length albums and achieved #1 Top 40 NZ chart positions and this upcoming appearance promises to get the audience up on their feet!
Completing this stellar line up are young virtuoso’s The Miltones. The five-piece have made a real name for themselves in the Kiwi music scene over the past two years. Their sound described as bluesy Americana folk-rock, The Miltones are a hard-working live band with their sights set on an international career. Last year saw the band release their self-titled debut album to critical acclaim and since they have continued to gig live and grow their devoted fanbase.
