Sip on a journey through wine on the last Wednesday of every month. Each month brings 6 wines, cheese & good company. Hosted by long time wine lover Jemma Grobbelaar.

At our wine tastings at Fantail & Turtle we pour wines of integrity & authenticity, wines that speak of their terroir, we share stories about the wine-makers that cherish their vineyards and look after the environment. We pour wines for people who care, made by people who care.

We are back again with another wine club Wednesday, this time scouting the globe for Pinot Noir. You could say it’s the worlds most famous grape, NZ’s finest offering, the wine world praise’s the terroir of Burgundy, some call it fickle, some pay as much as a car for a bottle. We will be tasting five pinot’s from New Zealand, France, California, South Africa + Argentina. For some fun, the sixth wine will be tasted blind and whoever guesses which region it is from correctly will win a ticket to the next Wine Club….no blindfolds promise!

Also, the best thing we have read about pinot noir lately is from Wine Cuentista. Here goes …
“It can be ethereal, pale and quietly charming, it can be hedonistic, powerful and intoxicating and it can even be quite firm, tough and inaccessible in youth, slowly shedding its defenses over the years and decades to reveal something quite sensational at its core.”

Sounds like the best anti ageing potion out there. How do you like your pinot?

We stand firmly by our ethos - wine is only as good as the company you drink it with.

30th October - Pinot Me Silly - Pinot Noir from NZ and around the world
27th November - Spritz - All Things Fizzy

Fantail & Turtle is at Goodside, Smales Farm - just 11 mins from Auckland CBD.
