Carmina Burana is an electrifying collection of songs illustrating the fickleness of fortune and wealth, the fleeting nature of life, the joy of the return of Spring, and the pleasures and perils of drinking, gluttony, gambling, and lust. The tone ranges from delicately light to rampantly raucous with its most famous section, O Fortuna.
This performance will be accompanied by an army of percussionists alongside two grand pianos and features a children’s chorus.
Starring Bass-Baritone and Lexus Song Quest Winner Joel Amosa, Soprano Amelia Berry, and our dying swan, Tenor Declan Cudd.
The evening begins with an exciting overture for percussion and party poppers followed by a dazzling display of skill by the National Concerto Competition winner, Yoshiko Tsuruta, performing Ney Rosauro’s Marimba concerto accompanied by the percussion ensemble.
