The Baroque Music Community and Educational Trust of New Zealand presents an international Baroque ensemble performing on period instruments in authentic interpretation.

Featuring Brandon Labadie on oboe and oboe d'amore performing concertos by Handel and Bach in addition to Pachelbel's cannon and music by Vivaldi. The international ensemble includes soloists performing on violin, harpsichord and cello.

Brandon Labadie - Oboe d'amore USA
Praised for “…his gorgeous tone…” (The Denver Examiner) and “…impressive oboe virtuosity…” (Otago Daily Times), American oboist Brandon Labadie is an enthusiastic and versatile performer of Baroque and Modern oboes. Currently, Mr. Labadie plays regularly with the Portland Baroque Orchestra, American Bach Soloists, The Ensemble of Oregon, and The Albany Consort in San Francisco.
As a soloist, Brandon has performed with groups in France, Germany, Japan, Singapore, and New Zealand. Recently, he led his chamber ensemble Blackletter Baroque on a tour through Tokyo, Osaka and Kobe, Japan, where they performed the revived music of colonial America. Previous engagements include solo appearances at the New Zealand International Early Music Festival, the Berkeley Early Music Festival, and as a soloist with Elizabeth Blumenstock and Musica Pacifica (San Francisco) in Bach’s Concerto for Oboe and Violin.

Szabolcs has been performing as a member of world-famous orchestra, the La Petite Bande. Since 2008, he has been a concertmaster of the Hof-Musici orchestra which is primarily working on the reconstruction and presentation of baroque operas with authentic instruments, costumes and original settings. He gives concerts with his own ensemble the Accademia Capricciosa and other baroque ensembles (Dolce Risonanza, Cammermusik Potsdam, Concert Royal Köln) in Germany, Austria, Belgium the Czech Republic and other European countries.

Edita Keglerová Harpsichord Czech Rep.
Edita has studied with J. Ogg at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague and then at the Royal Academy of Music in London. In 2007, she defended her doctoral thesis on Interpretation and Theory of Interpretation at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague. She is a laureate of several international music competitions. As a soloist or member of chamber ensembles, she has performed in many important concert halls not only in Europe but also overseas (Japan, New Zealand, Africa, USA). She cooperates with many ensembles, including the Prague Baroque Ensemble, Hipocondria, and Barocco Sempre Giovanne. In 2011, she became a professor at the Prague Music Conservatory. She has repeatedly led master classes at the Summer School of Early Music in Prachatice.

Jonathan Tanner Violin New Zealand
Jonathan is a versatile, enthusiastic violinist and violist who has recently returned from Master’s studies in Switzerland. He has played in most of New Zealand’s professional orchestras including the Christchurch and NZ Symphony Orchestras. Jonathan has extensive chamber music experience and can improvise and play a wide variety of musical styles including Classical, Irish, Bluegrass and Country. He is just as comfortable playing in an orchestra as a rock or folk band and can demonstrate anything from Mendelssohn to Michael Jackson!

Tomas Hurnik Cello New Zealand
Tomas has a rich musical career performing with international symphonies, recording for radio and television, winning various chamber music competitions and taking part in prestigious chamber groups such as Talich Chamber Orchestra. He has played with various period instrument groups such as Musica Florea, Capella Regia Prague and Solamente Naturali with which he performed and toured around Europe. He is now the associate principal in Christchurch Symphony and continues to be passionate about period instrument playing and organizes and performs in concerts, workshops and master classes of Baroque music in New Zealand.
