The Music Innovation Trust of Taranaki is pleased to present the 2019 Cathedral Organ Recital Series, with eleven organ recitals on the Johannus Sweelinck digital organ at the Taranaki Interim Cathedral Church of St Mary, New Plymouth.
The Cathedral is currently closed for earthquake remediation work with Taranaki's largest intact working pipe organ, the 1905 George Croft & Sons pipe organ, currently sitting dormant at this time The series will run throughout the year on the third Thursday of the month at 12.15pm, and a Christmas Organ Recital on Saturday 21 December at 2.00pm.
Come, sit and relax and let Christopher J. Luke, Director of Music to Taranaki Community & Cathedral, take you on a musical journey, exploring the many tonal colours and repertoire the organ world has to offer. Admission is by gold coin donation, supporting the ongoing musical life of the Cathedral. The Series is proudly supported by the TSB Community Trust.
