Be part of something big this Waitangi Day and celebrate in Porirua, at the all-new Waitangi Day Festival! It’s free and fun for the whole whānau.

Join us on Tuesday 6th February 2018 from 10am – 5pm at the Porirua waterfront, for a day filled with activities and performances.

You’re all invited to hop on a waka with Ngāti Toa and the Porirua Canoe and Kayak Club to experience Te-Awarua-o-Porirua Harbour like never before.

Never been on a waka? It’s the perfect opportunity to pick up a paddle and give it a try, while listening to first hand stories on the history of Porirua.

There’ll be creative opportunities for all ages, with easels and art boards to paint a Waitangi Day theme, create your own taniwha puppet, face painting, and you’ll be able to see Māori carving in action.

You’ll also be able to get close to marine life with an aquatic experience hosted by the Porirua Harbour Trust. You won’t go hungry, there will be lots of delicious food options to satisfy your puku too.

We're excited to announce our amazing headline act Aaradhna! Along with metal band Alien Weaponry and Haka-soul singer Robert Ruha. There are more performers to be announced, so stay tuned!
