Richard Mapp performed for our Series with Justine Cormack in 1997 and with The Dominion Quartet in 2010 playing the Dvorak A Major Quintet.
Richard collaborates with many leading musicians including the New Zealand String Quartet.
He is often heard on RNZ Concert, has recorded six CDs and whilst active in Europe he presented six recitals at The Wigmore Hall in London.
Richard’s programme is a rewarding selection of the repertoire for solo piano and includes Kenneth Young, a fine NZ conductor/composer who writes interesting, finely crafted music which avoids severe contemporary styles.
The Christopher’s Classics programme, founded by Christopher Marshall, has become a mainstay of the Christchurch chamber music scene, showcasing some of New Zealand’s finest musicians. Following this concert, the 2018 series features NZ Barok with cellist James Bush (16 October).
