Pform.nz’s students present four shows in their season called ‘The Greatest Show’. These shows could more aptly be named 'Their Greatest Show' as for many of the students in shows 5, 6 and 7 this will be their first big-stage experience. They feature Drama, Dance and Musical Theatre, every show promotes a fresh new cast from predominately in South and East Auckland venues; Royal Oak, Meadowbank, Remuera, Grey Lynn, Ellerslie, Balmoral, St Heliers, Glendowie, Cockle Bay, Dannemora, Howick, Karaka and Maraetai. Performers range from 4 years old to young teenagers.
Each class will showcase their work creating a variety-show feel to The Greatest Show.
Parents have not been asked to create or buy costumes or to help backstage. The BNZ Theatre provides a professional theatrical environment; drinks and snacks are available in the spacious foyer before each show, seats are numbered, ushers on hand to assist. Each show will be professionally filmed and a link to their show recording will be emailed to each performer before Christmas to share with family and friends during the festive season. Stage lighting and sudden amplified noise and applause will unsettle babies and infants, it is inappropriate to bring them. A disruption in the audience makes it difficult for young performers to focus; when they ‘break the fourth wall’ they lose confidence. Please support your young performers; it’s their time to excel and to shine.
Show 8 is predominately Teen talent. Many of these performers have been with Pform.nz for years and it shows. They are a great band of young people, a credit to their generation. The confidence and pride with which they perform will impress. Be prepared to be entertained. Included in this show are Ballet, Punch Monkey Theatre, Elite Senior and Elite Intermediate Dance, Drama, Elite Singing, Hip Hop, Musical Theatre and Contemporary Dance. A number of these performers will tour New York in July with Pform.nz. There they will extend their performance skills with some of Broadway’s finest and perform to industry scouts and cruise line recruiters. These performers are from venues scattered throughout Auckland. We hope they will proceed to train and become Pform.nz tutors over the ensuing years. Perhaps some will carve out careers as Pform.nz franchisees. I encourage students who are almost teens to see this show and what is available to them around the corner.
