Speed Works Motorsport Championship – New Zealand Grand Prix.
February is New Zealand Grand Prix time and this year it's going to be bigger and better than for years.
New Zealand is one of only two places outside of Formula One allowed to use the words 'Grand Prix' and it's well deserved as the future stars of Formula One aim to put their names on a trophy adorned with the names of the some of the sport's all-time greats. It's the first Grand Prix of 2018, and it's the biggest single motor race of the year in Aotearoa. Simply unmissable.
The best ever supporting cast includes the penultimate round of the BNT V8 championship, with awesome jaw-dropping V8 Class 1 machines from Holden, Ford, Nissan and Toyota all likely to star.
The country's top tin top championship is joined by the Toyota 86 series, Pirelli Porsche, Tradezone GTRNZ two grids of GT1/GT2 and GT3/GT4 car, NEXEN Pro 7 Mazda and the season's biggest field of Portergroup V8 Utes, which traditionally put on some fantastic racing at the Manawatu circuit.
With the F1 stars of the future all aiming to make their next step on the way to the top of the ladder, the grass roots single seater categories of Formula Ford 1600 and Formula First complete the picture and are also guaranteed to provide action from start to finish.
The Grand Prix this year is going to be bigger and better off track too, with high quality corporate hospitality and a big crowd coming from all parts of the North Island and the South Island. It's game on for the biggest trophy in NZ motorsport, and for all drivers to win on the international stage.
