Be electrified by the sound of Bach live and up close!

Hear James Tibbles at the harpsichord bringing all the intricacy, delicacy, and beauty of J.S. Bach to life. Join us for an all Bach programme including Brandenburg Concerto No. 5 with Sally Tibbles (baroque flute), Concerto in D minor for harpsichord, Suite for strings in D major, and Arias for strings from the Passions.

James Tibbles is one of New Zealand's leading players of historic keyboards, with an active international performing and recording career. James is Coordinator of Early Music Studies at the University of Auckland, where he teaches historic keyboards.

He has a substantial discography; his latest release, on the paladino music label, is of J.S. Bach sonatas for viola da gamba and harpsichord, recorded last year with Laura Vaughan (Australia).

NZ Barok is New Zealand’s only period instrument orchestra. Comprising leading baroque specialists from all over New Zealand, NZ Barok performs using instruments and playing styles of the period, breathing fresh life and vitality into baroque and classical masterpieces and lesser-known musical treasures from the 18th century.

Subscribe online at for NZ Barok's 2018 Auckland concerts, Bach Unplugged (5-6 May) and The Splendour of Venice (5-7 October) to receive the best ticket prices, priority seating, and an exclusive invitation to a private end of year function with the orchestra at Alberton Historic Home, Sunday 18 November. Subscriptions close Sunday 22 April 2018.

NZ Barok would like to thank Auckland Council, Stout Trust, Foundation North, The Wallace Foundation, Pub Charity and The Four Winds Foundation for their support.
