Now in Devonport, the King of the Bays offers an ‘I’m Going Long’ 2.5km from Cheltenham Beach around North Head to Windsor Reserve, a ‘Torpedo’ 750m and also a ‘Banana Boat OceanKids’ 200m, meaning there’s absolutely a swim (or two) to fit your level of awesomeness.

Are you a chlorine junky new to swimming in the briny blue ocean? This is the perfect time and place to dip your toes in the good stuff. A safe and reassuring environment will ensure your confidence grows and your personal challenge is ticked off in style!

Consisting of three different swim events, the King of the Bays provides an ocean swim event for all ages and abilities:
- ‘I’m Going Long’ 2.5km - a swim from Cheltenham Beach, around North Head finishing at Windsor Reserve
- ‘Torpedo’ 750m - a swim from Torpedo Bay, around to Windsor Reserve
- 'Banana Boat OceanKids' 200m - a swim for children aged between 7-12 years old, consisting of a 200m shallow water swim off the beach off Windsor Reserve, lined with Surf Life Saving NZ guards.
