This is South Pacific Helicopters NZ's exclusive flight that showcases natures force, the geological and environmental changes to Kaikoura coastal areas, mountain ranges, rivers and infrastructure.
South Pacific Helicopters NZ were one of the first aircraft to see the devastation on State Highway 1, while on a surveying mission first light following Kaikoura 7.8 magnitude earthquake, 14 November 2016.
South Pacific Helicopters NZ pilots have been working over the past year supporting local authorities, government and North Canterbury Transport Infrastructure Recovery (NCTIR) in Kaikoura rebuild.
The 'Aftershock Adventure' is a perfect tour for special interest enthusiasts/groups and community members who would like to experience the rebuild in a way that only a helicopter can achieve. Our pilots were able to tap into some amazing information from experts in the field of geology.
Included in this 40-minute flight is a landing site, an area which was recreated by the earthquake.
