Join conductor, Uwe Grodd, and piano soloist, Matteo Napoli for Franz Liszt's first Piano Concerto written in 1830.
This lively bravura work is both dramatic and lyrical, tranquil and sweet, yet playful and at times leaning towards anger! The prelude to this exciting work is the lively Overture from Nicolai's 'Merry Wives of Windsor' followed by the passionate 'Pathetique' Symphony of Tchaikovsky. Tchaikovsky himself called it 'a Symphony of Passion'. Written in the last year of his life, Tchaikovsky considered this to be his best work - his most honest and upright creation!
