As in any country the food and craft of Japan are part of the culture and reflect the way the people think and look at the world.
The Japanese diet is said to be healthy but is that true? Japanese do not eat sushi as often as we do here. This course will introduce common ingredients and will show you how to use them to create real Japanese food. An added aspect of the course is lessons in traditional Japanese fabric and paper crafts such as Sashiko and Kimekomi. Kazuko takes you on a journey into real Japanese life.
This course is an extension of the previous terms class. Another course this term will focus on language and calligraphy.
An extra charge of $15 will be made for course materials.
Kazuko Iwai is an accomplished Japanese musician with skills in many other aspects of Japanese culture.
