Summer is here! Have fun at the Museum these school holidays. Leave the children with us to enjoy supervised, tutored programmes.

Supervised Day Programmes:
8:30am to 5pm Monday to Friday, strictly for ages 7-13 years only.

Rumble in the Jungle - Monday, 15 January:
Join us on a safari where we will create African-inspired arts and crafts. Bring out your wild side while making your own tribal mask, silhouette artwork and fridge creatures.

Clay Day - Tuesday, 16 January:
Children will learn the FUN-damentals of clay. They’ll tour the Waiclay exhibition to explore colour, shape and texture. A practical workshop follows with sculptural and functional pieces to be created.

Science is Electrifying! - Wednesday, 17 January:
Discover the ‘Exsciting’ science behind electricity and build a cute circuit bug.

Smash it! - Thursday, 18 January:
We'll turn an ancient and royal technique into a fun day of smashing old pottery and tiles and building fabulous new mosaic art works.

Fab Fabric - Friday, 19 January:
Interior design and decorative art to be explored in our ArtsPost galleries. You'll design fabrics and create your own wearables and desirables.

Cool and Crafty Cubism - Monday, 22 January:
Let your inner Picasso run wild and create cubism-based artworks while exploring this modern art form.

History Detectives - Tuesday, 23 January:
Want to be a history detective? Children will explore the Museum’s collection and some of inner-Hamilton’s historic sites, finding clues that unlock a mystery. They will organise a historical photoshoot of images inspired by their journey through Hamilton’s past.

One, Two, Tree! - Wednesday, 24 January:
Explore our two tree exhibitions and discover how important trees are to Aotearoa and other cultures. Craft a forest canopy and bring your own plant press home.

Game of Stones - Thursday, 25 January:
Be a landscape designer for a day. Discover basic landscape design rules and create beautiful and functional garden art pieces using recycled and natural materials.

I Am/Koo Au – All About Me - Friday, 26 January:
Inspired by Nigel Brown’s exhibition, explore the use of symbols to represent ourselves. Using a range of media, create artworks which include symbolism, words and a message.
