Unfortunately this event has been cancelled.
I'll level with you, I've never been to America. Eye catching title though right? And I really needed one this year, because I'm not entirely sure what the show will be. So I'm sorry I lied, but honestly all I can do with the title at this stage is make it eye catching. I had this great plan of doing a whole hour about poo, not because it's a good idea, but because it's very clearly not. I just wanted to pull that off.
Unfortunately I've been busy, so here's an hour of other new jokes, stories, and off the cuff banter. I can promise you it'll be good fun. We're gonna get to know each other and have a good time. Also, I love self-deprecation as much as the next person, but I'm honestly pretty good at this. I know, I know, as a Kiwi you shouldn't say positive things about yourself, but I've got USA in the title so I might as well act a bit American and tell you I can do this, and I can do it well. Even won a couple of awards like Best MC in the Christchurch Comedy Awards 2015, or Best Performer in the Frinch Awards 2016.
Maybe awards don't do it for you, how about some critical acclaim, aka quotes from a few reviews...
'Clearly a talented comedian' - Theatreview
'Genuinely Lovely' - Nelson Fringe
'Leaves us roaring with laughter' - Art Murmurs
I know it's all sounding a bit 'braggy', but that's just what we've gotta do at festivals... and in for a penny, in for a pound... so here's some quotes from a couple of prestigious comedians...
'Snap is unique piece of work. He is a very funny man with a very silly name. 10/10 would Snap again.' - Jordan Raskopoulos, The Axis of Awesome
'Snap is a larrikin national treasure, the cheeky pirate prince of crowd work and tales of unlikely shenanigans' - Justin 'Rusty' White
Alright, that seems to have filled most of the word quota. Hope to see you at the show, but if you can't make it along than please do go support other shows during the Dunedin Fringe Festival, and once this is all wrapped up, don't wait till next year, keep going out to shows, and never stop supporting the arts in your city.
On air 3-6 weekdays, www.PulzarFM.co.nz or 105.7 in Chch.
