Fresh Eyes is the 2018 summer highlight project. 30 young people, from a wide diversity of backgrounds and experiences, will come together under the creative leadership of a team of interdisciplinary artists. The two-week project will use a collaborative devising process, where the story is shaped within this time frame by the whole team and culminates in a weekend of performances.
Fresh Eyes is all about storytelling, explored through dance, drama and the use of light. Seen through the eyes of young people looking at old and new stories about love, life, the universe and everything. Presented in an industrial shed at the Corban Estate Arts Centre in West Auckland Fresh Eyes will use light, dark and shadow as a dynamic platform to illuminate, hide and reveal how a group of young people see and share stories that resonate for them. In the words of the participants – ‘How we see it”.
