Backbeat Comedy is Auckland's premiere stand up show. Featuring New Zealand's best comedians and unannounced special guests, it's the best gig in town to catch the funniest kiwis around.
This month featuring Mel Bracewell, Alan McElroy, James Malcolm, Itay Dom, Chris Parker and more!
Mel Bracewell is one of the best bits of The Project (Three) and familiar to any Radio Hauraki listener. She's quickly becoming a household name in NZ and for good reason - she's very bloody funny! She's a previous RAW winner and is well-known internationally for her incredible comedy social presence (200k+ followers on Tumblr can't be wrong).
Alan McElroy is a Dubliner turned kiwi. The hilarious, high energy, fast talking Irishman has more gags than joke book. His audience rapport is almost unmatched and his self-deprecating humour makes sure that he’s got everyone on side.
James Malcolm is a current Billy T nominee and previous winner of the RAW Comedy Quest, James is has never been one to pull punches. Whether it’s stories about finding his mum’s sex toys or trying to marry TV’s Chris Warner, it’s impossible not to laugh at James’ fantastic stand up.
Itay Dom; Born in Israel and moving to the small beach town of Waikanae didn’t suit, so he moved to Auckland to tell jokes about his childhood, his relationships and his ethnicity. A rising star on the local scene, he’s an exciting new act and one to watch.
Chris Parker is a comedian/improviser/actor and writing with too many credits to name. His debut hour in 2015's comedy fest instantly earned him the coveted Best Newcomer award and he's toured up and down the country starring in Hudson & Halls Live. He's also a co-host of the hit podcast The Male Gayz.
