A family-friendly, outdoor Sunday market featuring specialty produce and handmade items with entertainment, food stalls, coffee, flowers & plants and a pop-up tearoom on the verandah!
Alberton is a beautiful 1863 timber mansion with Indian influenced turrets in Mt Albert, run by Heritage New Zealand. It has tranquil grounds recalling the setting of a quaint country farm with flowerbeds, a vegetable patch, chicken coop and lots of sunny grassy areas.
We are delighted to announce Alberton's Market Days which will run on every 2nd Sunday of the month (except in January):
- 11 November 2018
- 9 December 2018
- 10 February 2019
- 10 March 2019
- 14 April 2019
As well as seasonal fruit & organic veges there will be homemade preserves, honey, gourmet sausages and charcuterie, deli products, boutique olive oil, tea, kombutcha, nuts and nut butters, baked goods and sweet treats (including Christmas treats such as tarts, Christmas cake and gingerbread in November and December). Local creatives will be selling beautiful handcrafted goods such as ceramics, woodcraft, clothing, toys, jewellery, candles, natural soap and other unique one-off items.
An array of fantastic street food stalls will provide tempting options for brunch or lunch and Alberton's volunteers will be serving tea & scones on the verandah. From the vintage china of course!
The little ones will be entertained by craft activities and face-painting. In November we look forward to welcoming visiting lambs from Mt Albert Grammar School Farm who will be bottle fed at 11am!
In November special guest - landscape gardener and Radio LIVE Home & Garden Show presenter Tony Murrell - will present a free talk at midday on 'More Plants Less Visible Soil' followed by a Q&A.
In December we look forward to welcoming back Sunday Star Times columnist and gardener extraordinaire Lynda Hallinan who will be chat about her recently released book on Damson Plums!
