Manukau Symphony Orchestra celebrates its 25th Anniversary with Handel's 'Music for the Royal Fireworks' - a truly majestic work designed for an outdoor fireworks display to celebrate the Aix Peace Treaty of 1749. Join us for this celebration.
New Zealand's favourite classical pianist, Michael Houstoun, joins conductor, Uwe Grodd, for two concertos - J. S. Bach's 'Concerto in D minor' one of the first works written specificcally for piano and orchestra, followed by the mighty 'Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini' for piano and orchestra by Rachmaninov.
MSO adds a romantic touch with Tchaikovsky's 'Romeo and Juliet' Fantasy Overture - tracing the tragic story of the two lovers. We experience the dramatic conflict of the two families, the delicate love-story - with pillow talk - and the transfiguration of the unhappy lovers as they are released from earthly existence.
Eventfinda holds limited number of tickets and MSO holds majority of the theatre seats.
