The Okere Falls Beerfest is back again for October 2018!
We're kicking off the festivities on Wednesday with a beer tasting with Garage Project Brewery from Wellington and live alt-country jams from The Porchrockers. After we've all had a drink and settled into the week, we take a day to celebrate our neighbours and regulars with Thursday Local's Night - a classic Okere Falls Beerfest evening with Schwein (Pork Roast) and original disco & jazz by Mighty Mighty. Friday and Saturday are ticketed events filled with fantastic bands, including our favourite high-energy, horn-blowing Festival Band!
Friday night line up is confirmed with awesome sounds from 5 pm sharp with dynamic Acoustic beats and funky sounds of one of last year's crowd favourites, Whitechapel Jak. Headlining and back by popular demand from a short winter holiday is Otium, an awesome group of lads bringing reggae, dub & funk from Whangarei - super fun and super talented.
Saturday Line-up is also confirmed with live music from 12 noon. Coming in early we have local Rotorua celebrity Lloyd Ackroyd with his smooth guitar and jazz/blues vibe to warm up the afternoon, followed by bluesy Americana folk-rock sounds of The Miltones. Heading into the evening we have Phil Edward's Band, filled with funk & reggae vibes before we go out with a bang accompanied by Waiheke International Soul Orchestra!
Schweinshaxe Pork Roast Dinner Tickets are available every night however, we have limited numbers so please purchase your ticket in advance to avoid disappointment.
A range of German Bretzels, Griller Burgers, Bratwurst Sausages and more will also be available for purchase on the night. Our fantastic collection of wines, ciders and NZ beers on tap, and our new low and non-alcoholic beverages, will also be on hand.
Departing and returning to 1241 Fenton Street. Each bus ticket is a return trip, leaving town at the time listed and allowing you to jump on any of the returning buses, which will be running between 8pm-10pm. We advise being there at least 10 minutes prior to the bus departure time.
Come and join us for an amazing week of German Festivities. Ziggy, Ziggy, Ziggy! Oi, Oi, Oi.
Please note: Beerfest is not a BYO event and is a festival-style atmosphere in which to enjoy great food, exceptional beverages, and fantastic music. Only happy people please, or you will be asked to leave nicely.
