Soprano/ Minji Kim’s debut took place at San Luca Theater in Italy where she established her career as an opera singer. She won several main roles in operas such as ‘La Bohème’, ‘Falstaff’ and ‘Die Zauberflöte’. She has been invited to perform throughout Europe, USA and Asia. She was an artist of I. U. M. A Management in Italy until she moved back to Korea. Kim actively performs with many orchestras including KBS Symphony, Johann Strauss Chamber, Latina Philharmonic and Rieti Philharmonic in Italy. Kim is also enjoying teaching voice and Italian diction at the Korea National Univ of Arts and Czech Brno Conservatory.
Minji Kim began studies invoice from a young age, then she entered the Korea National Univ of Arts followed by studies at The Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Italy which is one of the oldest musical institutions in the world. She continued her studies for BIENNIO (corso superior).
Kim’s musical career is extensive and she has won several international competitions including Mattia Battistini Opera and A.GI.MUS, 2nd prize of Rolando Nicolosi and ANEMOS as well as Vissi d'Arte, Tommaso Traetta, Martini, Mario Lanza, TIM, Rome Festival International Competition.
Baritone/ Jarvis Dams most recently won the New Zealand Aria competition in 2017 and he was selected as a finalist in the IFAC Australian Singing Competition in 2016.
Originally from Belgium, Jarvis has lived in New Zealand for 18 years. A 2014 - 2015 NZ Opera Dame Malvina Major Emerging Artist.
He holds a Master of Music and Bachelor’s degree from The University of Waikato and was a recipient of the University of Waikato Sir Edmund Hillary Scholarship for performance and leadership.
Jarvis, was also selected as one of six singers to be a part of the inaugural Dame Kiri Te Kanawa Foundation Development Programme for promising young singers and gratefully acknowledges their support.
Soprano/ Moonyoung Jang won second place in the New Zealand Aria Competition 2017.
She completed a Bachelor and a Master’s degree in vocal study at Kookmin University in Seoul, Korea. She was a member of the prestigious Gwacheon City Women’s Choir. Moonyoung has won several music competitions including Music Education News and OSAKA International CONCOURS (2011 Japan).
Tenor/ Peter Chung was born in Kuching, Sarawak in East Malaysia and he graduated with a Bachelor in Church Music, majoring in vocal performance in 1992. In 1997, he attended Melbourne Conservatorium to further his studies in vocal performance, where he studied under Merlyn Quaife and acquired his Master degree in Music.
In 2009, Peter and his team established “Creative Journey”. As the Artistic and Managing Director, he is responsible for promoting CJ’s vision and ministries.
Soprano/ Christina McDonald is just completing her Bachelor of Music, Majoring in Classical performance - voice, at the University of Auckland.
Christina has played the lead in three Gilbert and Sullivan operas, including of Mabel in Pirates of Penzance (2014); Yumyum in the Mikado (2015); Casilda in the Gondoliers (2015); and has performed in three Opera scenes show put on by the University of Auckland.
Christina has also competed in several competitions and one of her recent successes has been winning the best female Vocalist in the South Auckland Performing Arts Competitions in 2017.
Piano/ Yun-Pai Hsu worked as a pianist, accompanist and teacher in the United States where she also received her education from top-ranked music conservatories. She has won many music awards and performed as guest soloist with various orchestras both in the United States and New Zealand. Yun-Pai Hsu has worked as a staff accompanist at the University of Cincinnati, University of Iowa, and the University of Auckland.
Currently, Yun-Pai Hsu performs regularly as a collaborative artist in Auckland.
