For one day a year, thousands of Distinguished Gentleman (and genteel lady folk) in hundreds of cities worldwide press their cravats, starch their tweed and sit astride their classic-styled motorcycles to raise funds for prostate cancer research and mental health awareness. In 2016, Hamilton's inaugural ride raised an amazing NZD16,000, placing it 3rd highest fundraising in New Zealand (10 cities participated).
Following on last years huge success, the 2017 ride has been designed to deliver even more entertainment for riders along the route. The ride will again allow participants the chance to enjoy a relaxing ride around Hamilton with like-minded dapper folk, before culminating in Hood Street where we encourage riders to stay and socialise.
We strongly encourage family and friends of riders, plus the general public to attend the finish point in Hood Street from 1.00pm onward, to enjoy the array of over 100 classic bikes and dapper folk on display, and to help foster community in the great city of Hamilton.
If you are a classic motorcycle enthusiast, then sign up at the website today (please note that all riders must be registered on the official DGR website in order to ride on the day). If you would like to just come down and witness the theatre of so many classic bikes and dapper dressed riders, then drop by Hood Street from 1.00pm on Sunday 24 September 2017.
