Tekla Klebetnica - the name of the band means "County gossip" and was taken from the local Silesian dialect of the Cieszyn region. The band performs folk music mainly from the Carpathian mountain range with an addition of a few Balkan melodies. This fusion of traditional folklore with elements of Gypsy, classical and jazz music is called folk crossover. Tekla Klebetnica started to play as a band in 2006 and regularly cooperates with various musicians and professional dancers. In 2013 the band skyrocketed to fame when they came in second place in the "Mam talent" tv show, the Polish version of "NZ's got talent" show.
Tekla Klebetnica gives around 230 concerts a year currently touring Australia and New Zealand, with concerts so far in Christchurch, Wellington, Auckland and Hamilton.
They were very well received in Australia where they performed to full houses in several cities.
As their concert is so close to Christmas - they will perform a selection of Christmas carols and other folk, classical and jazz items.
