MAALA returns for a live show to celebrate latest single Crazy, already on the airwaves and set to be one of the jams of the summer.
Shows from the Tui Award-winning artist are always a sell-out in Auckland and a real treat for fans of soulful electronic pop. Don't mess around getting tickets to this one.
The line-up for this show has just been extended to add some of the most exciting new flavours in NZ music. Rapper Abdul Kay is joined by two high energy acts - electro-poppers Openside and euphoric pop pied piper Jon Lemmon!
Openside have shared the stage with everyone from Ellie Goulding to tearing up last weekend's Edgefest while Jon Lemmon's new track "It's Gonna Be Alright" is already lighting up the George FM playlist and laced with confident flows and sharp rhymes, 20-year-old Abdul Kay has already been handpicked by David Dallas as the one to watch on Auckland's hip-hop scene.
The Wireless have already called MAALA's "Crazy "an understated but totally undeniable chart hit waiting to happen", going on to note that "If we were to power rank the 'next big things' we've been inundated with in the wake of Pure Heroine, MAALA would be pretty close to the top."
We’d be crazy to argue against that sort of hype. This is another ridiculously sweet melody from this master of electronic pop and one of many reasons to look forward to a rare chance to get down at one of his brilliant live shows.
