Written by Roger Hall with music by Philip Norman and song lyrics by A K Grant, the musical is based on the popular and original characters created by Murray Ball.
Directed by Marilyn Bouzaid, the comic strip style of Footrot Flats is retained within the story in which town versus country as Cheeky tries to lure Wal away from the farm. The familiar characters of Wal, Dog, Cheeky, Aunt Dolly, Horse, Cooch, Prince Charles, Dolores and others provide between them a show full of music and laughter.
