Aku Yanga Cook Islands Fashion Show
An exclusive high end Cook Island Fashion Show is announcing its second show this year November 17th at the Mangere Arts Centre.
Aku Yanga meaning ‘My Work’ in the dialect of Pukapukan, Cook Islands language. Started from humble beginnings of just a community fashion project involving the Te ulu o te watu- Pukapukan Community. Due to the demand of another show, the team decided to open the opportunity to all Cook Islanders as a nation to participate.
This year they will be showcasing emerging, current and future Fashion designers, Make up Artist, Hairstylists and Models all of Cook Islands heritage.
The Aku Yanga team believe that they are filling the gap of truly creating a platform to help all Cook Islanders build confidence, be proud and introduce industry networks to the wider communities and to the world.
