Supported by an amazing line up such as Maisey Rika, Adeaze, Three Houses Down, Sammy J, Chad Chambers, NZ’s Got Talent finalist Tawaroa Kawana and others whom Renee has been hugely influential in their careers, this is a one-off concert not to be missed!
February 2013 not only celebrates Valentines, but heralds the beginning of the revitalisation of '80s R&B and who better to entertain us with her melodic sultry blues voice but the Australasian diva herself, Renée Geyer.
Renée Geyer is currently recording her 25th album. And she's convinced with this record she's reached a turning point.
Renée has long been regarded as one of the finest exponents of jazz, soul and R&B idioms in the NZ-Australasian music scene for over 40 years. Renée's rootsy R&B salsa/reggae 1981 hit 'Say I Love You' reached #1 in New Zealand and she still has a strong following.
As Renee descends upon our pristine Rotorua blue lake shores we also celebrate and support kapa haka excellence as Te Matatini Performing Arts Festival showcases the best of our national Māori cultural groups over four days. Renee is a huge supporter of Maori performing arts and considers herself an ‘honorary aunty’.
