Fresh from headlining Raggamuffin Samoa, Missouri-based reggae star Spawnbreezie will be returning to do a series of intimate gigs in New Zealand from 13 – 15 September.

With a sound that merges island music, reggae and a taste of hip hop, Spawnbreezie has generated extensive airplay in New Zealand and created a significant buzz. His recent tours to these shores have regularly sold out but with hit after hit such as Oh My Goodness, Don’t Let Go and I’m In Love, fans just keep wanting more.

The gigs will kick off on Thursday 13 September in Auckland at the 4:20 Bar on K’Road with support from RubberBand, a 6 piece group who emerged from Manurewa High School in 2011. With a mix of reggae, funk, RnB, the South Auckland band have enjoyed great early success. Highlights include winning the Smokefree Pacifica Beats competition in 2011, playing support for Katchafire, Black Seeds and 1814 on the Queens Wharf at Rugby World Cup final celebrations, slots at Raggamuffin Music Festival 2012, Pacifica Festival and Polyfest and recording their debut single at York St Studios.

To finish off the night, House Of Shem Reggae Dancehall presents Jahvier a.k.a DJ Sito and DJ Rude Boy direct from Chile.

This will be followed by dates at Whangarei’s Heaven Bar on Friday 14 September with DJ Big Daddy and MC Ricky Prime and The Bedford at CPSA in Christchurch on Saturday 15 September. Local support at CPSA will be fantastic local reggae acts Merchants of Flow and 1 Drop Nation. Merchants of Flow are a 7 piece act that recently opened for Spawnbreezie, J Boog, Peetah Morgan and Fiji at a huge sold out show in Christchurch this June.

A 7pce outfit with an insatiable appetite for delivering an amazing performance every time they hit the stage, 1 Drop Nation’s tunes will have you caught up in their sweet irie vibes, there sound is hugely influenced by reggae, but they add their own flavour with an eclectic mix of genres ranging from rock to Bollywood. DJ’s Infared and Danny Ill will complete the line up in Christchurch along with some Raggamuffin Festival ticket giveaways and an Official Afterparty at Club 604.

Don’t miss this chance to see Spawnbreezie, up close and personal! Capacities are limited in each venue. Tickets only $36 (plus booking fees) and are on sale Thursday 23 August.
